The Last First Day
Parents decorate the Senior Parking Lot and the Bus Loop at Cary High for the first day of school. Signs and posters are placed along the driveway, the Spirit Bus is painted, parking spots are decorated with chalk drawings, balloons line the entry to the doors, and other fun things welcoming the Seniors to their "Last First Day" of school.
The first Wednesday of each month, September through May, we offer muffins before school in the gym lobby for our seniors. Muffins are donated by Senior parents and a committee is in charge of collecting the muffins along with setup and clean-up each month. A Sign-up Genius will go out to this group each month for muffin donations.
At the Senior Breakfast in November, we provide a sit down breakfast (solicited through donations) in the gymnasium for all of our graduates. We will feed approximately 550 Seniors.
The Senior Picnic follows the Senior Awards Ceremony earlier that morning and is held on the football field. The PTSA provides lunch (solicited through donations) for all of our June graduates along with a variety of activities usually including a DJ and dancing.
Interfaith Graduation Ceremony
This student-led interfaith service is for all Seniors and their families to celebrate their spiritual lives and faith tradition as together we mark the end of the high school journey. Multiple faith traditions will be represented through sacred readings, student's words of inspiration, music, prayer and short messages from Muslim, Hindu, Jewish and Christian leaders.
